Clogged gutters don't stay a gutter problem. Water backs up over the edge, runs down the fascia, soaks the soffit and ends up against your foundation. We clear the whole system by hand, flush the downspouts, and flow-test it before we leave — so you know it actually works, not just that it looks clean from the ground.

Why the flow test matters
Most of what goes wrong with gutters isn't visible from a ladder at the corner. A run can look spotless and still not drain, because the blockage is in the elbow at the bottom of the downspout or in the underground line it feeds. Scooping the leaves out and leaving is the fast version of this job, and it's why people call again six weeks later with the same overflow.
Running water through the finished system takes a few more minutes and tells you the truth. If it doesn't drain, we find out while we're still there with a ladder up.

Common questions
How often do gutters need cleaning?
Twice a year for most homes here — late spring after the pollen and seed drop, and late fall once the leaves are down. If you have pines over the house, pine straw sheds year-round and three times a year is more realistic. Homes with no overhanging trees can often go once.
What does gutter cleaning cost?
It comes down to linear footage, how many stories, roof pitch and how much is in there. The calculator above gives you a ballpark for one and two story homes; three stories and up we price in person. Our minimum gutter cleaning charge is $80. Quotes are free and the quote is the price.
Do gutter guards mean I never have to clean them?
No, and anyone telling you otherwise is selling guards. Guards cut down how much gets in and stretch the interval, but fine debris, shingle grit and pine needles still build up, and the guards themselves collect a mat of straw on top. Guarded gutters still need checking — just less often.
Can't I just blow them out?
You can, and it's faster, but it packs debris into the downspouts and scatters the rest across your roof and beds. It also doesn't tell you whether the system drains. We clear by hand for that reason.
Do I need to be home?
No. We need access to the perimeter of the house and an outside spigot for the flush. We'll send photos and a note on anything we found.
What if you find damage?
We tell you, with a photo, and we don't upsell you a repair you don't need. Loose hangers and separated seams are usually a quick fix; rotted fascia or bad pitch is a bigger conversation and we'll say so honestly.
Do you clean the underground drain lines?
Not as part of a standard cleaning. We'll flush the downspout into the line and tell you if it's backing up, which is the usual sign the buried line is blocked.
